Chronology of cameras Herold Products Co.
It is difficult to date this camera because it does not appear in magazines like " Popular Photography" . Its bakelite body can easily mislead . By analogy, when compared with cameras available on the U.S. market, such as Ansco Memar or Contina Zeiss , one can deduce that it dates from the mid 50s. As we also know that Herold Mfg. . became Herold Prod . in 1956 , and that the box is marked Herold Mfg . while the unit is Herold Products, we should not be too far from the truth.
The entire lower portion of the apparatus is brown bakelite . The back may be removed completely retained by pressure and locked by a rotary latch.
The upper part is made of gray plastic.
The metal parts are quite poorly molded . The crown of the objective itself resembles silver colour plastic , like the pseudo- metal parts of the Heller or Monogram models.
